Start from zero and pay attention to all the opportunities that emerge. Engage with each potential collaboration directly, or by making introductions. Keep making connections — between people, ideas, and possibilities.
Very nice article. The meaning of life according to Mick Jagger. "Uh, you sing the damn song the best you can, mate." I was thinking of my grandfather today, after reading another article on Medium this morning. He was a smart, successful man with a great marriage, family, and business. He fought in a consequential battle in WWI and knew how to fix a plumbing system when it went wrong. He wrote three books. His philosophy of life could be summed up as, "You do the best you can with what's right in front of you." We could use a whole lot more of that these days. Re: Mick Jagger. I got Beggars Banquet when it came out in 1968. I was 16. Must have listened to that amazing album a zillion times. Still love it. But I never analyzed the lyrics.
