By the way, I met the writer/director of Jerry Maguire, Cameron Crowe. And he was delightful. It was the time of Almost Famous and I gave him a small heartfelt gift. I got a note from him later to say thanks. The note had no return address. I did not have his email or phone number. He was delightful. But a ship passing in the night. Connection 0, Attention-hungry world 1.

And so it was with Shedeur Sanders. He valued currency over connection. However, NFL coaches and owners didn't agree. They were looking for connections with the other team members and with Management. Shedeur's "Show me the Money" blustering resulted in almost complete rejection by NFL teams.

Your insights always get me to the core, like the world goes quiet for a moment while my spirit whispers “yes that’s the truth”. Thanks for sharing your work with us. 🙏

For what it's worth: Jerry Maguire (1996) is included with Amazon Prime for 11 more days (today is 5/21). It's also free on Pluto TV. I haven't seen it since I rented it (VHS) from Blockbuster. Maybe worth a re-watch. Or maybe your post is sufficient. I will have to debate the value of 2 hrs and 19 minutes. :D

I think it's worth a rewatch. It's both funny and moving.

And Tom does it once again. This reminds me of my recent declaration that I will no longer fight the fight for podcast awards (although if my partners want to nominate us, I will play along. I am a good team player, after all). Winning has never made an impact on my ability to do more projects. Being more popular (i.e., having a much larger audience) is the only thing that has enabled more projects. But even that is conditional - you can do more as long as they're like THIS, not that. So I'm left as I began - with the capacity and hopefully the skill to make the stuff that pleases me and, hopefully, a few people in my orbit.

And that, my very good friend, is the true definition of success!

And INSIDE ALIEN goes before the microphones next week, Tom. Buyer: Who knows? But show will be made. :-)
